What we do
Devi is a non-profit initiative at the grassroots level which began in Montreal, Quebec and now operates out of Vancouver, British Columbia.
We seek to help those less fortunate than ourselves - and as a result our efforts make those less fortunate feel fortunate. With your personal contribution, we can turn this into a useful service and build a network of donations that support women and youths.
Whether you travel frequently for business or pleasure, or simply accumulate over-the-counter store-samples, your donation is simple and small, yet can mean so much. It can be various items such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, deodorant, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, perfume, and gel. Donations of new
or slightly used toilettries are appreciated.
How it works: First start by collecting your toiletries items, and when you have filled a shoe box or more, please contact the corresponding volunteer in your city. There are collection sites in Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, an
d Toronto.
The items will be collected at your convenience and subsequently sent to headquarters in Montreal where they will be bagged into a useful kit, and distributed to various non-profit women's shelters and youth centers. The women who often come to the shelter have just the clothes on their back. While shelters can provide women with food and a shelter, they are often limited in providing toiletries for them. The mission is to collect 300 kits every 3 months. All of our efforts and yours will be updated on this site to view and read when a donation is placed. You can help in other ways as well, by starting the chain of hands - tell your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors.
Long term goal is add various large donations from company sponsors.
